Piano Lessons with Nina Soyfer may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: Royal Conservatory of Music exam preparation, popular music performance, composition, accompaniment, improvisation, and/or meditation at the piano (a type of improvisation as well). Lessons are customized to fit the needs and interests of each student, and a wide variety of approaches and methods are used to achieve the best fit possible.
Voice Lessons with Nina Soyfer include, but are not limited to, the art of composing songs, pitch, technique, breathing, repertoire development, performance, or voice and piano lessons (where singers accompany themselves). Lessons are customized to fit the needs and interests of each student, and a wide variety of approaches and methods are used to achieve the best fit possible.
Sopilka lessons include introduction to technique, breathing, finger patterns, improvisation, and reading music. Lessons are customized to fit the needs and interests of each student, and a wide variety of approaches and methods are used to achieve the best fit possible.
Bandura lessons include basic understanding of technique and instrument care and structure. Students can learn to compose, improvise, read music, and sing with bandura accompaniment at beginner to medium levels. Lessons are customized to fit the needs and interests of each student, and a wide variety of approaches and methods are used to achieve the best fit possible.
Percussion lessons include African drumming technique, double (bitonal) bell technique, and rattle (shaker) technique. Students improvise, learn rhythms, and perform repertoire of their choice. Lessons are customized to fit the needs and interests of each student, and a wide variety of approaches and methods are used to achieve the best fit possible.
These lessons include the experience of playing percussion along with singing (optional), all accompanied by piano or guitar. This provides an all-round experience of ensemble, improves rhythmic accuracy, and brings plenty of joy. Nina has arranged songs from different cultures, and any song of the student’s choice can be arranged as well. In a group lesson format, the students perform a concert. Students can perform in private settings as well. Both options include video recordings distributed to students.
These lessons focus on the art of performing music or any other art, in a professional way. Stage presence, stage awareness, bowing techniques for various arts, speech and diction, posture, etc., are taught and practiced.
